Changes related to the trademark or class of goods or the owner of the mark, as well as the changes related to the address and nationality and the legal representative of the owner of the mark will not be recognized in Iran and will not be supported unless it is registered in Iran.

According to Article 138 of the Executive Regulations of the mentioned law, the owner of the trademark is obliged to notify the registration authority of any change regarding the name, address, nationality, and residence, or the granting of permission to use the trademark or transfer, or objections to the registered trademark. The application of these changes will be in accordance with the provisions of the law and its executive regulations. If there are changes in the international classification of the registered mark, the owner of the mark can request the registration authority to apply the mentioned changes in the mark certificate.

Any change in the ownership of the collective mark registration or change in the collective mark registration declaration is subject to the prior approval of the head of the country’s real estate and documents registration organization. The change in the ownership of individual or collective trademark registration is not valid in cases such as the nature, origin, construction stages, characteristics or suitability for the purpose of the goods or services, causing public confusion or deception.
